(More customer reviews)I've heard that the pheromone products are touch and go as to whether or not they work for your dog. Our vet had told us we might try it to calm down our german shepherd mix who is completely obsessive compulsive (so much so that she drives the rest of the family nuts with her behavior). At the same time we bought our first collar, we also started her on a prescription for Prozac.
Within 24 hours her behavior dramatically improved. No more constantly pacing the house. No more chewing her bed up. No more following me 1/2 step behind me everywhere I go (including the bathroom). She has had intensive obedience training, but it wasn't until we put the collar on her that she suddenly became the most perfectly behaved dog on-leash I've ever had the pleasure to behold. People comment on it when we are out walking, because she now heels beautifully instead of pulling at the leash and spooking at every little thing.
We wondered if it might be the Prozac, and not the collar. That was until this week, when suddenly her behavior made a return to all her old OCD habits. Then I realized; it was almost exactly a month ago I ordered her collar (they only last for a month).
I am sold on this product. It's a bit pricey, but worth it to have a sane dog. It doesn't work for all dogs, but if you have a dog with OCD, it is worth trying to see if it helps.
