(More customer reviews)My 7 month old Lab mix is a very dominate type of puppy. I didn't realize this until it was too late and the behaviors of a dominate dog started to set in. Going on walks with him wasn't very pleasant, but not bad either. He would pull and tug at his pleasure and walk in front of me, pulling me as we went. Well i tried training him to walk properly but honestly i didn't put too much effort into it, and that is my own shortcomings.
I was reading a puppy training book and decided to get this collar. It works fine. The size i got was the medium i believe, which was way too big. i nearly had to remove all but 3 prongs to get it to fit on the dog correctly. First time we went for a walk it was a pleasant one. He's no longer pulling at his own accord and is very well tempered. He still tries to walk ahead of me, but we're working on that. I also had him wear the collar whenever my nieces came to visit. He behaved around them with it on, with it off he would tug at their clothes.
The only con is that the collar discolors his fur, leaving a darkened stain. Maybe its the metal coating that's leaving the black residue?
