For older puppies and adult dogs the hexagon show choke is best because the closely-fitted links do not grab and pull the dog's skin or hair. As with any choke-chain, put it on the dog so that, if the dog is at your left side, and you relax tension, the weight of the large ring drops - immediately releasing pressure from the dog's neck. If the ring doesn't immediately drop, you have it on the dog upside down. Never let an unattended dog wear a choke chain of ANY kind. These show chokes look great and the dog responds quickly when proper techniques are used. The show choke is best choice for dogs whose hair or skin get pulled by standard choke chains. (Very young puppies should use cloth martingale leads for training.)
