(More customer reviews)It flashes when it moves all right, but not just in the dark when needed. It strobes in a well lit room. From the product description I thought I could leave it on the dog all the time, and it would only flash when in the dark. It is a distracting waste of batteries! A switch to shut it off would be great. You have to take the battery out or take it off the dog to shut it off. I keep mine near the door and only put it on the dog when we go out at night. ..........when I remember.
