(More customer reviews)My dog had surgery on her knee and I purchased this item because she hates the cones. (Takes out all the living room furniture by throwing her body around in terror.) I don't know if I measured wrong or what, but she was able to get to her incision no problem. My husband helped me with the measuring the second time, and we still came up with the same measurement. She was 6.5 inches from the back of her head to the top of her shoulder blade, so the directions said not to go over the size because it would be very uncomfortable for the dogs. So, we bought the 6" collar. Maybe it was just too short and that is why it didn't work. She is about the same size of a lab.
