(More customer reviews)We bought one of these and put them on our front door. We followed the directions for days, weeks, months! But still (its been almost a year) our dog doesn't voluntarily ring the bell when she needs to go outside.
We can say "outside! Ring the bells!" and she runs over to the door and rings the bells and gets all excited cause she knows we are going outside. Yet she will NEVER ring them on her own! I have tried putting peanut butter on the bells to get her to go up to them on her own and then took her outside, but still she wouldn't do it again. We have tried to reward her with treats (she is a pound dog so she is very food oriented) and she happily rings the bell on command but will not do it on her own.
We still use them, consistently, as the package says EVERY time we take her outside. Either these Poochie Bells don't work or our dog just doesn't understand the concept. "Ring Bells. Go Outside". Even when she has had an upset tummy she has not rung the bells! I would love any insight...
