(More customer reviews)I searched Dog Appeasing Pheromones on the internet to see what came up, and read about several well-crafted scientific studies that had positive results, and gave lots of other useful information about its use. It's known that it does not work on all dogs, the effects can be reduced by air flow and temperature, and for best results you should also be doing positive behavior modification and situation management - don't rely on DAP alone. That said, I couldn't believe that we are among the lucky ones for whom it works - I'm usually in the exceptions. I read that people had the best results with the spray, so I ordered it and sprayed it in our car with the air conditioning on/windows closed 10 minutes before we left the house. Also sprayed some on a bandanna that I put around my dog's neck. My dog was drawn to it immediately. On our walk, he was much calmer around strange dogs and willing to focus on me rather than them, and relax instead of acting out with leash frustration - so we were able to have a lovely walk instead of a tense one. I was also able to leave him in the car (windows rolled down partway in the shade)for 10 minutes to run into a store, and when I came back, instead of his usual distress, he was wagging his tail and grinning. It seemed effective in the car for at least 1 1/2 hours. It really does seem to mellow him out!
