(More customer reviews)We tried the non-belt version from the same company and all I can say is that I will never own that type. It's very obvious why they are dangerous. This works well with our 9 lb dog, but will do well for larger dogs as well. I'd be a little concerned if your dog approaches the 44 lb limit, perhaps go to the larger model.
My only complaint, and it's a very small one is that the belt does get itself twisted. My general solution for this is to apply some lubricant (WD40 or similar) to the rotating section of the clasp. This helps, but only for a while.
