I used this for my 8 month old female lab after her spay surgery. I didn't put it on her at first because she was still sleepy from the surgery. I put it on her that night and make sure it was secure and I didn't blow it up all the way so she could sleep, she was still a little drowsy.
This product is very easy to take off and on the dog unlike the plastic cones which are way more difficult to take off and on, esp. if you have a squirming dog you're trying to put it on.
The next morning I inflated the collar all the way and readjusted everything so it fit correctly and she seemed fine with it. I put her in the kennel to take a nap after breakfast and went outside for a couple of hours and when I came back to check on her she had somehow chewed the Velcro strap in half, seriously it was in half one part was still on and the Velcro part was still sticking to the other side. She got the collar turned around and tore the outer blue cover at the the corner section at the seams; then chewed off the air spout even though it was tucked into the hole down into the cover. So in all this lasted about 4 hours on her being awake and about 7 hours with her being sleeping and napping.
This product isn't really bite-resistant as it claims to be and I'm disappointed because most of Kong things really do stand up to my dogs beatings.
I wish I would have seen this product sooner because it would have been absolutely perfect for my male dog. He is fine with me putting things on him and he wouldn't have chewed it up and it would have made my life a lot easier when he was in recovery from his neuter surgery. So it just really depends on what type of dog you have if this product is going to work for you. If you have a Houdini dog like my female is you probably should go with the hard plastic cones but if you have a more tolerant dog like my male this will work perfectly for you.
