(More customer reviews)A choke collar serves primarily as a communication/feedback device rather than a restraint tool. If people want a restraint tool they can buy a normal dog collar. When the dog moves away, a choke collar tightens and the animal gets negative feedback. When the animal comes back, the negative feedback\tightness goes away. Unfortunately, this product doesn't function this way. Due to the spongy nature of the fabric, the collar sometimes doesn't "release" enough once there's slack in the leash. Consequently, the animal doesn't get proper feedback signals and gets confused and starts to panic and pull even more.
My dog was doing well with a $0.50 choke collar provided by the dog shelter; however, once I got this item, our walks turned into nightmares. She would pull, pant, panic, wheeze, cough, choke. I started getting frustrated. Finally, I tested it out on my wrist and found out that it doesn't release well. As soon as I resumed using the $0.50 choke leash, our walks became great again. I'm upset at myself for taking three weeks to find that this product was causing so many problems. It could have injured my dog. I don't think the seller of this product knows how bad it is. If your the vendor and your reading this, please stop selling it.
