(More customer reviews)I bought Flexi Click for my large sized Pug about 30 lbs (he is not show quality) and for my Great Dane. I don't usually have to have them on a leash, but once in a while it comes in handy as my Pug is deaf and a bit blind and sometimes can't find me even though I am right in front of him. These are the times I need to just grab a leash. I walk four dogs and I don't like to have four leashes in my hands when I don't need too. The large Flexi click is too short to work for my Pug, not enough line, and too weak for my Great Dane. I think if he pulled to go sniff something, it would break. I bought the large one to accommodate both dogs. It does hook on fine to the collar and attaches easily. I liked that feature. I just was disappointed that the leash part was so short. I guess it was unclear to me how long the retractable part was. Be sure you check that before buying. I suppose it would be better for my Catahoula or my Lab but they need to be on leash most of the time. I kept it instead of sending it back, cause I know it would be useful at some point for some dog in my life down the road.

(More customer reviews)Love this collar..., it has served many good years for my 60# Pit Bull. However, recently the buckle closure has broken, that's the reason for 4 instead of 5 star rating. I walk the dog 3X each day and the collar is removed after each walk, so that's a lot of wear & tear. The quick release buckle is much easier and convenient to use than the former "buckle & pin" style, just not as durable. Overall quality, workmanship, and finish is outstanding.

(More customer reviews)My family adopted an adult silky terrier who loves the sound of his own voice. Since we don't know how he picked up the barking habit (he was running stray, background entirely unknown) our efforts to break this habit have been trial and error -- mostly error. Suffice it to say that he still barks at everything, and sometimes at nothing.
I saw this product advertised in a catalogue and decided to give it a try. Nothing else was working and I am still reluctant to try shock collars. The Ultrasonic Bark Control device is handheld and operated with a 9 volt battery. The owner's manual states that an internal microphone can pick up the dog's barking within 10 feet and automatically emits the ultrasonic sound that is meant to stop the barking. There's also a red button that you can push to emit the sound, and the dog will hear it if he is within 20 feet of the device.
Having used the device, I can tell you that the noise is out of range of human hearing. I've heard some complaints about other brands being just as annoying to the humans as to the dogs -- not this brand. However, I'm no longer confident that's a plus -- the noise might not be irritating enough. The first day I used the device, it worked beautifully. The dog would bark once or twice, look puzzled, and then settle down. The second day he was barking for a good twenty seconds before my frantic use of the manual button would settle him down. Now, he just ignores the noise and barks 'til his heart's content and our eardrums are vibrating. I'm thinking of giving the Ultrasonic Bark Control device to another dog owner I know in hopes he has more longterm success from it than I did.
I must add that our dog has an unusually stubborn and ornery temperament. For a sweeter-tempered habitual barker, this device might be the perfect solution.

The sizing chart go by the neck of the dog. For instance my dogs collar is only 12 in so I got the medium. She also weights 12 lbs if that helps anyone else trying to figure whether to go with small or med.

(More customer reviews)I've only had the collar for a week and only now had the chance to use it in the field ... all I can say is WHAT A DIFFERENCE! I should say that my dog already knew basic commands like "Come", "Sit", "Stay", "Heel", and "Down" but getting him to do those things off-lease was a real challenge. With the radio collar, things are a snap. Games of fetch are now actually fun for both of us. He used to run after the ball, catch it, but then proceed to not come back with it. Prompts of treats didn't help past the first one or two throws. After only two "tickles" on the lowest setting (and we really are talking a "tickle" here ... I tested it on myself and the lowest setting is far less than you might get from a shock from walking on synthetic or wook carpeting), he now makes a bee line back to me after only getting the tone prompt. With only one tickle at the lowest setting, he's even heeling off lease as we walk home from throwing the ball. Truly ... if you have a dog who already knows basic commands and you'd like to be able to take him off-lease for games (or hunting as the product description states) this is a wonderful product. This is not a substitute for training but is a very effective supplement to it. All my dog needed was the reinforcement that I meant the commands I was giving him even off-lease.
An additional kudos to the Petsafe company ... the originally shipped transmitter (the part that looks like a little FRS radio) was defective making the set essentially useless. One call to Petsafe and they replaced the transmitter with a new one with no problelm.

The collars use to come with standard batteries that you could pick up at the store for about $5.00, but PetSafe decided they could make much more money if they sealed the batteries in a "Easy to replace" cartridge and charge you double the price of regular batteries. I was VERY dissatisfied with the life of their batteries and the cost, although I love the performance of their system. As a result I carefully filed down the top of their battery cartridge so that I could extract the battery in it. I then found a replacement battery online. The cost for a battery for my dogs collar was $12.50. I found I could replace the battery inside the sealed unit for $4.00. Needless to say, I am once again a fan. So here is the tip: Take a worn out battery unit out of your dog's collar. Carefully file away the plastic lip that holds the battery in the unit. Take a pair of needle nose pliers and remove the battery and then identify the battery type. I have two dogs that wear these collars and they take different batteries (one is a Boxer, the other a mini-Shnauzer). However I have found that I can replace the batteries for one-third the price that PetSafe asks for battery replacement. Other than the battery issue, these collars and fence syatems are awesome!

Lazer Brite Reflective Dog Collar, 12-18-Inches, Skull and Cross Bones Review

(More customer reviews)I have purchased these collars for my dogs ever since I discovered them a few years ago. The reflective quality is far superior to any other that I have found. My dogs will occasionally bolt the electric fence after dark and, since they are both black, I believe that these collars give them a better chance of not getting hit by a car since they can be seen from quite a distance. The size adjuster does tend to slip a bit over time so I need to keep checking them every few weeks to make sure they're not getting too loose. They are quite durable despite the fact that my two dogs like to chew on each other's collars! I only wish there were a greater variety of colors and patterns available.
