Been using the cable for about 3 weeks now, it's already all full of kinks and twists. Seems to happen to all of them. Otherwise seems very good, end clips work nice and the cable crimps seem very secure.

The clips on this style tie out are easy to manage on snowy days where other styles freeze up. It holds my 50 pound dog great. However my 85 pound dog managed to pull the spring apart. I would give it 5 stars if it came in a heavier weight.

Both clips at the ends broke inside of a week. 70lb dog. Only thing good about this product is the price and the wire.

Petmate Medium Dog Tieout Cable, 10-Feet Review

Simply not as break resistant as you might expect. Rosie weighs only 12 pounds and is 12 years old and this only lasted a month before I found cracks in the cable.( yes, she as with all Skips, is very busy) As she fits through our iron fence slats, and Skips are prey seekers, I have to tie her out when she is outside. I need a solid heavy tieout line for her and this one did not hold up even if rated for a MUCH larger dog.

Petmate X-Large Super Dog Tieout Cable, 15-Feet Review

My dogs are about 60 lbs and I wouldn't say they are "very aggressive" but they are sometimes wanting to be free of restraints to run and play so they often break the thinner cables rated for pets up to 100 lbs. These cables have been great at keeping them contained, just watch for wear on the plastic coating because once it splits the cable inside will rust and compromise the strength of the cable.

30' Large Dog Tie Out Cable Leash Review

My dog is part black lab, beagle, dachshund, and basset hound. He is not really big (about 26 pounds), but he is very strong and on the occasions he gets loose, he follows his hound nose and goes far and fast!
I use vinyl coated tie outs attached to a stake in the ground in my back yard, and they work well for him under two conditions. First, they must have the heavy duty spring on one end. Not all of them do, but this one does. The spring has probably saved Elvis from breaking his neck when some unsuspecting rabbit or squirrel comes into our yard.
Second, you have to know the tie outs will be problematic in long periods of freezing weather. It will kink on you, and it will tie itself into knots. Those knots and the cold weather conditions can weaken the tie out. I have had several brands...all heavy duty, and they simply do not last forever.
I would recommend replacement every spring or you will be chasing after a little dog with a dangerous 20 foot piece of leash trailing him. Luckily for me, my dog didn't get too far before he became hopelessly tangled in a neighbor's yard. I consider it my fault because I didn't replace the tie out as soon as the weather warmed up.
This "So-Dak" tie out is as good as, and better than, any others I have used, especially because of its strong spring. Just beware...it is not expected to last forever.
